“The Museum is accessible to wheelchair users and others who need to avoid stairs. Some galleries may be closed to achieve social distance. Ask staff if you need assistance locating elevators or step-free routes”
“Strollers and front-facing baby carriers are welcome. Please note that some exhibitions do not allow strollers. Jogging strollers and wagons are not allowed.”
We contacted them and here’s what they said:
“The Met provides bathrooms with foldable baby-changing station in many locations, notably in the ground level Uris Education Center entrance.”

“There is also a lactation room on the 4th floor, near our dining room. Also under New York Civil Rights Law Section, parents can breastfeed in any public space at any time.”
“Small backpacks are allowed but must be worn on your front or carried in your hand.” – This may impact your ability to use a back pack style baby carrier.
“Water is allowed in a secure bottle. No other liquids are permitted.” – We have asked them if this includes baby bottles. We will let you know the answer soon!
